Pants

Tales of black combat pants really are wide of the mark, what Phillips was wearing was in fact black Levi's 560 jeans. Waist 36" Inside Leg 32 " [This model of jeans appears to have been specifically chosen by Phillips due to the larger cut through the seat and the thighs allowing him to wear the bullet resistant thigh protection on the inside where it would be held in place by the jeans].
1 x black alligator skin belt with simple silver buckle.
(Coroner's 402 form lists  single defect to the right rear pocket [Zboravan's shotgun pellet], defects x2 to left front groin area, consistent with autopsy report)

Load bearing vest

Unknown brand.  (Coroner's 402 form lists  defects x3 to the back and right shoulder, defects x3 to the right frontal shoulder area, single defect to mid right front, single defect to the lower left central pouch [middle of the three], consistent with autopsy report).
Vest appears to have been mildly customized, dual pistol pouches have had their retaining flap cut in half to allow access/retention of a single magazine.
There are several areas that have been heavily taped with red electrical tape. Lower front of main closure zip & left shoulder.

Shoulder holster

Not listed on the Coroner's clothing report, however it has been independently investigated and found to be a tan 'Miami Classic' horizontal draw manufactured by Galco Gunleather of Phoenix, Arizona. Rig has an inverted dual magazine pouch mounted to hang under the right armpit. The holster design was originally drawn up in 1970 but with the rise of Miami Vice in the 1980's Don Jonson chose this particular set up to use on the show, the full story can be found here.  http://www.usgalco.com/FactsInteresting.asp

Attached to the pistol belt by ALICE clips were four USGI 2 quart canteen pouches, olive green in color. These were used as primary storage for the 75 and 100 round drum magazines for the Norinco rifles.

Pouch 3 (right hip) shows damage from gunfire, appears to be a single round.

Body Armor

One dark blue Level IIIA Rabintek vest. Manufactured in Israel, distributed in USA by Hoffmann Enterprises.
One dark blue Level IIA Rabintek full width groin guard.
Six 'wraps', fashioned from additional vests. Two for shins, two for thighs, two for forearms. Most notable is the fact that Phillips had no protection on his upper arms, this is presumed that because of his size that having two extra 'wraps' in these locations would have severely hindered his mobility and abilty to close his arms to his chest.
The suit of armor myth is just that, myth. Phillips did not have a 'suit of armor' all neatly stitched together as is commonly perceived. Whilst he was certainly over-armored for a bank robbery there were some major design flaws in his protection.

Coroner's 402 form lists defects x3 lower right back, defect x1 rear right shoulder. None penetrated fully.
Defects x2 front right shoulder, defect x1 center of chest (central to the plate sleeve), defect x1 lower left edge of groin guard. Right shoulder defects are penetrations, central chest defect is not.
